San Diego Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR): Why You Should Hire an ABR
When you hire me to represent you on your San Diego home purchase, you are hiring an Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR). When a realtor holds the ABR® designation, you can trust they have the extra edge when it comes to knowledge and experience working with homebuyers.
Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) is a special designation that's awarded to real estate brokers who have completed a 16-hour professional training course offered by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) that deals specifically with representing buyers. Before earning the Accredited Buyer's Representative designation, a buyer's agent must also demonstrate proven experience in representing buyers. The main reasons I took these courses was to gain a stronger understanding of the homebuyer's perspective and to better protect and promote the buyer's interests in my practice as an Exclusive Buyer's Agent.
I will say that it's one thing to attend a class, and it's another thing altogether to implement what you learn into your systems and business practices. I have implemented many of the ideas I learned from the Accredited Buyer's Representative courses to truly transform the way I represent my homebuyer clients. As an ABR®, you can expect me to:
- Understand your specific needs and wants, and locate appropriate properties
- Assist you in determining how much you can afford (help you pre-qualify your mortgage)
- Preview and accompany you in viewing properties
- Advise you in formulating your offer
- Help you develop your negotiating strategy
- Provide a list of qualified vendors (inspectors, contractors, lenders, etc.) for other services you may need
- Keep track of every detail throughout the transaction - to closing and beyond
Not all San Diego buyer agents are equal. A realtor who's earned the Accredited Buyer's Representative designation has made the extra effort to raise the bar with additional training and experience.
When you work with an ABR®, you can feel confident you'll receive the highest level of buyer representation services. If you would like more information about the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) designation, please feel free to contact me directly.
